Jockey and chestnut racehorse in the winners enclosure at York

From a first winner on the Yorkshire turf to the floodlights of Meydan, our story has moved quickly.

The record came quickly. Our first winner in Britain arrived at Redcar in May 2025, when Miss Yechance won on her debut; the following July she added the stable's first stakes-race success in the EBF Restricted Novice Stakes at Catterick. That winter the operation crossed to Meydan for its first Dubai campaign, and by December 2025 Al Leith Racing stood among the top five owners in the UAE championship.

Today the operation is based in Libya, with horses in training in the UAE, France and the UK — four countries on three continents: Africa, Asia and Europe. Thoroughbred and Arabian racing and breeding sit side by side in the plan: campaigns are mapped across both hemispheres, and the same silks are carried from Yorkshire's summer turf to the Carnival at Meydan.

Our Horses

Miss Yechance

Miss Yechance is the flagship of the string — a chestnut filly by Cotai Glory out of Rosie Bassett, bought for £32,000 as a yearling and now a winner in both England and Dubai.

Career record
  • Three wins from twelve starts, including the EBF Restricted Novice Stakes at Catterick and the DP World Express Handicap at the Dubai Racing Carnival.
  • Has raced at Royal Ascot twice, in Listed company at Deauville, and through a full Meydan winter campaign; now trained by K R Burke.

Al Leith Thunder

Al Leith Thunder is a chestnut colt by Instagrand out of Vibrato, a daughter of Unbridled's Song, and the young standard-bearer of our Dubai string.

Career record
  • Unbeaten after one start, having won on the dirt at Meydan on his only appearance to date.
  • Officially rated 95 in the UAE, he is trained in Dubai by Musabbeh Al Mheiri.

The String

Beyond the two names above, our string takes in sprinters and milers in training across Libya, the UAE, France and the UK, campaigned wherever the calendar suits them best.

In training
  • Our horses are stabled across Libya, the UAE, France and the UK with licensed professional trainers, with year-round veterinary, farriery and rehabilitation support.
  • Turnout breaks between campaigns keep the string fresh for targets across all four bases.
