Not every race is about the result. When Miss Yechance crossed the Channel to race in Listed company at Deauville, the trip was about education: a new country, a new track and a step up in class against some of France's best.
Why Deauville
The filly had already shown her ability in England — a debut win at Redcar and a stakes success in the EBF Restricted Novice Stakes at Catterick. Black-type company in France was the logical next question to ask of her, and Deauville's straight track is as fair a test as European racing offers.

Experience banked
Racing abroad teaches a horse — and a stable — things a home fixture cannot: travelling, settling in unfamiliar surroundings, handling a different style of race. It is exactly that experience Miss Yechance drew on when she crossed to Dubai for the winter and won at the Carnival.
Deauville now sits alongside Royal Ascot and Meydan on her passport. For a young operation, that list is the point: our horses are campaigned wherever the calendar suits them best.
